Shoulder Shawl

Hi Everyone! First I must apologise to everyone as it's been a very long time since I have last made a comment or a post due to my DH's illness. You can read more about it on my blog helenknits. Knitting has and is helping me cope in these tough times.

What I do want to post about is that I have finally finished my sister in laws 50th birthday present the beautiful Shoulder Shawl by Jane Sowerby. I gave it to her on Christmas Eve and she loved it. Yeah!!! And here are a couple of photo's of it. I used Debbie Bliss Pure Silk in Purple, it is a wonderful yarn to knit with and the colour is amazing. It blocked beautifully.

Alpine Shawl

This is my Alpine Shawl, made from JaggerSpun Zephyr in Coral. It's about 75% finished. I've been working on it for a while now. I had to stop and order more yarn because I ran out. Now I am just trying to finish up some other projects before I dive back in.

A Handsome Triangle

Made in silk from Colourmart, which turned out to be really hard to photograph well. And I didn't have enough pins for the blocking, so the edging got kind of pointy... I'll see if I try again.

On the first repeats I thought "I'll never learn this". But I soon got the hang of it, and knitted most of the shawl on my daily train ride to work. The last repeats were just boring.

There are details on Ravelry.

Half Curved Shawl with Diamond Edging. DONE

yarn: JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk 2/18
needle: Addi Turbo Lace 3.00mm 24in
Duration: 8 months
size: 92in by 42in

Done done done! After the disaster with my cat, I finally picked up the needles and re knitted again. It took me a while to figure out the edging and at the end I didn't use dpns to knit the edging but with circ needle by picking up the edging first then knit the edging pattern.

you can view more photos on my flickr.

It was fun to knit this shawl.
