The Victoria Shawl

.... is finally finished. I'd planned to get this done in time for Easter but failed and put it away for a while. Dug it out again on Monday to finish half the border. A disaster struck. I ran out of yarn on the last short side. Long story short - I used a similar coloured yarn adn over dyed it and this is the final result:

More pics including pics of how it was before over dyeing on my blog. Also got lots of yarn candy photos posted today on my blog so check it out and get ready to drool. The shawl btw is for my Mum and we're off to Norway on Sunday. I hope she likes it.

Oh, this is lovely. You're inspiring me to get back into a lace-knitting frame of mind. It's gorgeous.

This is beautiful - I had wondered how wearable this shawl would be and it looks lovely wrapped around you. The color is beautiful - you turned your bad luck into good lookin'!

Thank you. My mum loved the shawl and the new colour. It was my daughter modelling it. Shes nearly as tall as my Mum now (shes small though) so the shawl is a bit gib on her but she loves it. My sister has ordered a shawl now. Think I`ll do a different one though.

Hello,
I have started this shawl also, and I had noticed that the chart only gave a K2Tog and did not include a SSK. I was wondering if that was an error? Thank you, and your shawl is breathtaking!

If I hadn't gotten addicted to lace already, this photo would have inspired me to do so. I just love it.
