A curved shawl milestone

I finished the main body of the shawl today:

I didn't pin it out or anything for the photo - it's just stretched out hastily on the carpet to give you a vague idea. There's a cute picot bind-off that was fun to work. Tonight after the kidlets are in bed I hope to start on the knitted-on border.

What yarn and needles did you use, please? And how big is it roughly? I would like to make this one but think it would be too small in the suggested yarn. TIA

Thanks all. :) Currently I have 20 repeats of the border done (there are 54 total), and it's going great!

BJ, I am using Ornaghi Filati (sp?) Merino Oro, a 100% merino laceweight, on size 3 needles. I can't really tell you the dimensions yet - I think it will need some severe blocking and I haven't had a chance to pin it out. I will definitely post the dimensions when I get it finished and blocked, though!
