Half-Square in Trinity Stitch

I was having some doubts about the way this shawl looked while I was working on the main body, but I told myself that once the lace edging was started I would fall in love with it all over again.

I can’t stand the way the edging looks. It doesn’t look at all like it does in the book. I’ve pulled out and reknit it 3 times to try to get it to look right and at this point I’m ready to fold it carefully up, tuck it away out of sight and ignore it until magical lace gnomes come along and make it look different.

The edging looks nice from what I can see of it on the pic. Can't remember what it looks like in the book now but I'll have a look later. Remember it may change appearence once it's blocked. Love the yarn.

As far as I can tell from the picture, it looks like the picture in the book. Is it the combination of yarn and pattern or is it the pattern itself? You could always use a different edging from VLT or another pattern. Sorry its not behaving...there's always hope that the lace gnomes will help out.
