Finished Shawl w/ #20 edging
At long last I have a photo of my finished shawl. I absolutely love it. It's a much brighter color than I usually chose, but I'm glad I didn't go with my usual blue or dark grey. I know I look really sombre in the photo. It's not an attempt to look like a petulant model. My 3 year-old daughter was having a tantrum a few feet away and I was trying not to blow a gasket.
Anyhow, the yarn is kid silk haze. I knit it with #7us needles. It's very long and glamorous, but I didn't measure it. On to the next project, tra la tra la.

marta, this is stunning!!
i hadn't actually considered this shawl until i saw your version and now i just want one for myself.
well done on an absolutely perfect FO
ps. the colour really suits you!!
I like it, Martha! It does look lovely. You do look a bit grim .. but having gone through my son's meltdown this morning, I understand. Better grim than possessed.
What are you going to make next?
Fabulous. Love the color, everything. Congratulations on your finish.
Beautiful! I love the color too. I'm attempting to do the same--pick colors that I wouldn't normally pick. Yours turned out lovely!
Very beautiful! Congratulations! The red is a good color for you. I hope both you and your daughter are feeling more relaxed now.
It looks wonderful, and it's a great photograph. Maybe you could get your daughter to act up every time you want to capture that look :)
The color you picked is lovely! I thought about red, but I have another red shawl on the needles (Icarus), so I decided to do a light color.
What a gorgeous piece of knitting! And the color looks great on you. I know it's hard to break out of our color patterns (I have tons of blue/purple sock yarn!), but I'm sure you'll enjoy wearing your unique shawl!
Really, really lovely.
